Another delicious and juicy Pink Bourbon, this time from Juan Jiménez Peña via our friends at Osito! It's got that classic high altitude pink bourbon profile, we're getting Pink Lemonade and Greengage plums. Zippy, sweet and full.
Juan Jiménez Peña has a 16 hectare farm called El Porvenir in Santa Barbara, Palestina, Huila. Palestina is sometimes overshadowed by the neighbouring municipality, Pitalito, which produces the most coffee of any municipality in Colombia. That said, there have been many exceptional coffees coming out of Palestina over the last few years, and we're very excited to be able to roast some of them.
Juan Jiménez Peña is one of Osito's longest-standing producer relationships; they first started working with Juan and his wife/business partner Leidy in 2018. For the last 6 years they've been shipping his coffee to the UK and the US. The coffees from El Porvenir are rarely blended and almost always kept separate for microlots. This Pink Bourbon received 4th place in the Southern Division of Osito's 'Copa de Oro' (Gold Cup) cup competition. We can see why, it's a really exceptional Pink Bourbon.
Juan and Leidy's farm is 16 hectares which is on the large side for Colombia. The farm is well-managed and the coffees that come from them are consistently high-quality year after year. We look forward to trying more coffees from them in years to come!
