We really did our research on suppliers and used TeeMill/Rapanui Clothing to print these shirts – the best we could find by far in terms of environmental credentials and being forced-labour-free. Rapanui Clothing is committed to working with their partners to ensure the positive treatment of workers, safe conditions, and fair pay, 3 things that are part of our ethos at Skylark. They do this by visiting their factories in person and making sure standards are being met. And as part of their GOTS certification, their supply chain is also audited to ensure safe, positive, and fair working conditions and pay along every step of the way.
Their products, like these shirts (or our tote bags), are made from natural materials (like organic cotton for these tees) in factories powered by renewable energy, and are designed to be returned and remade when they're worn out. Rather than mass-producing clothes speculatively, they print in real time, making only what people need when they need it.
