Obsessed with sustainability

We buy a mix of organically grown, biodynamic, and polyculture coffees without certification (because most farmers know better than we do). We roast mostly naturally processed coffees, which generally create half the CO2 emissions of traditional washed coffees.  We are on track to be a fossil-fuel-free roastery by the end of 2026 and we're leaders in developing the most environmentally supportive packaging available. All packaging except our largest bags comes plastic free, and we’re exploring further innovation that will allow us to eliminate plastic entirely.

Savvy economics

We pay attention to the details and build lasting relationships to ensure the economics work for everyone. For coffee, we pay on average 3x the Fair Trade minimum price and donate another £1 per kilo to support social projects and people in producing communities.  After that, we also donate all of our profit to projects centred on nature conservation, empowering coffee farmers, and supporting employment in the specialty coffee industry.

When you buy from Skylark, you are invested in this open-source model — we publish our profit margins so you can navigate and compare. You’ll get superb coffees to share with your customers that comes with our traceable environmental and human rights credentials. At the same time, our wholesale pricing is designed to preserve a healthy margin for you, since this is crucial to any modern coffee operation.
